The Sling Bag...is a free pattern!

 

I want to show you my new creation!

 

Les quiero mostrar mi nueva creación!

 

 

 

 

Some elements were necessary in order to make it, a pattern and a designer who 
allow me to change its pattern, a pair of jeans and my imagination.

I was lucky to be part of Samantha's pattern testers because this time Samantha 
gave us freedom to modify her pattern, it was then, that I decided to recycle a 
pair of jeans.

 

Samantha is a wonderful designer; you can find her on her blog At Home with Mrs.  H, where she shares with us interesting articles, sewing tips, and much 
more.

 

Good news!!! The pattern is free and I'll give you the link at the end of my 
post.

 

 

Varios elementos fueron indispensables para hacerla, un patrón  y una diseñadora

 que me permitiera modificar su patrón,   un par de jeans y mi imaginación.

 

 

Estoy contenta de formar parte del grupo de personas que prueban los patrones 
de Samantha en particular esta vez,  pues   Samantha nos dio libertad de 
modificar su  patrón, fue así que yo decidí  transformar un par de jeans en un 
bolso.

costura,  y muchísimo  más.

Todo comenzó con este par de jeans.

 

 

 

It all started with this pair of jeans.

 

About the pattern:

I added 2" to the length to  the pattern Top pattern.

 

 

Acerca del patron:

 Lo primero que hice fue agregar 2 pulgadas a la parte superior del patrón A.

 

 

 

Then position the pattern on the jeans to determine the length needed to make 
the bag.

 

 

 

Luego posicione el patrón para determinar el largo que necesitaba para hacer el 
bolso.

 

 

 



On the back I drew the cut lines, one in the middle of the leg and another   to 
determine the length I needed.

 



 

En la parte de atrás yo dibujé  las líneas de corte, una en el  medio de la 
pierna y la otra linea para determinar  la parte de arriba.

 

 

 

Here I show you pictures of the section I cut and how I have positioned the 
pattern.

 

 

Aquí les muestro fotos de la sección que corté y como posicioné el patrón.

Then I followed the instructions of the pattern, up the time when we need to 
attach the side tabs.
 I placed my tab 5 " from the top and I also moved the tab about 3" from the 
side, I hope that with my picture you will understand!

 

Luego fui siguiendo las instrucciones del patrón, hasta el momento en el cual 
tenemos que colocar las pestañas de los costados ( the side tabs) yo las 
desplace y las coloque a 5 pulgadas del borde superior y las corrí hacia el

frente del 
bolso, más o menos 3 pulgadas de las costuras laterales. Espero que con la foto 
lo vean todo más claro.

 

 

 

 

Then I followed all instructions to the end.

Luego seguí con todas las instrucciones hasta el final.

 

 

 In the end I decided to make a flower to give a focal point, I used the same 

fabric as the inner lining to keep the same theme in the colors.

 



 Al final decidí hacer una flor para dar un punto focal, usé la misma tela que el

 forro interior  para guardar el mismo tema en los colores.

Make this bag was an experience that gives me a great pleasure.

It is a pattern created for beginners, where you can learn various sewing 

techniques, how to create a zipped pocket, how to sew a slip pocket, how to 
install a magnetic snap and how to do an adjustable strap.

Se trata de un modelo creado para los principiantes, donde se puede aprender 
diversas técnicas de costura, cómo crear un bolsillo con cremallera, cómo coser 
un bolsillo, cómo instalar un broche magnético y cómo hacer una correa 
ajustable.

Happy 2014 to you all!

I hope you enjoyed this month of holidays that just passed, everything has a 
beginning and an end and that's how it started and ended 2013.
, I decided to take a few weeks 
off during the holidays, to enjoy with my family. Now I have a terrible urge to 
be here with you and begin another new year.

 

 

I have to confess that I feel an overflowing energy to start the year!!!

 

 

This year I have a number of projects in mind, I would like to do a bit of 
everything, considering I have an array of fabrics, wool, paint, paper, 
materials for making jewelry and especially very many ideas, we're going to have fun certainly.

 

 

Another thing I want to do this year is to allow you to discover new blogs, 
above all I want to let you to know my bloggy-friends, those friends that are always 
giving me inspiration and also encouragement to continue creating.

 

This is my first post of 2014 and today I want to show a bag I made for a 
friend of my mom.

The wavy bag, a model that I like to do and above all my friends like, is why 
when I hear them say "I would love to have one like this in black" ... I can not resist the temptation to start looking fabric in my arsenal of fabrics, believe 
me when I say that is an array of fabrics! It was in this way that this project 
began and ended, a friend said the magic words "I would love to have one like 
this in black" and I started to sew this bag.


 

 

  

 

Hola,  espero que todos ustedes  hayan  disfrutado  de este período de fiestas 
que acaba de terminar, todo tiene un principio y un fin y así es como empezó y 
término el 2013.
Estoy contenta de estar de nuevo en mi blog, decidí tomar unas semanas  de 
descanso durante el periodo de fiestas, para disfrutarlas con mi familia. Ahora 
tengo unas ganas terribles de estar aquí con ustedes y comenzar otro nuevo año.

 

Tengo que confesar que me siento con una energía desbordante para empezar el año en el blog.

 

Para este año tengo una cantidad de proyectos en mente,  quisiera hacer un poco 
de todo, considerando que tengo un arsenal de telas, lana, pintura, papeles, 
materiales para hacer joyas y sobre todo muchísimas ideas, nos vamos a divertir 
con toda seguridad.

Otra cosa que quisiera hacer este año es permitirles a ustedes de descubrir 
nuevos blogs, sobre todo yo quisiera que ustedes conozcan a mis amigas blogueras, 
esas amigas que siempre me están dando inspiración y me dan aliento para seguir 
creando.

 

 

Esta es mi primera publicación del año 2014, hoy les quiero mostrar un bolso que 
hice  para una amiga de mi mama.

 

Una Wavy bag, es un modelo que me gusta hacer y que sobre todo les gusta a mis 
amigos, es por eso que cuando les escucho decir" me encantaría tener una así de 
color negro"...yo no puedo resistir la tentación de empezar a buscar  tela en mi 
arsenal de telas, créanme cuando digo que es un arsenal de telas! Fue de esta 
manera que comenzó y termino este proyecto, una amiga dijo las palabras mágicas 
"me encantaría tener una así de color negro" y yo me empecé a coser este bolso.

 

 

 

 

I decided to make a small bag to accompany the big one. I bought the pattern here   is a pattern from Elizabeth Hartman and you will find 3 different bag styles that you will love.

This is the one I did!


 

 

Decidí hacer un pequeño bolso  para acompañar  a él grande. El patrón lo compre  aquí, y está en ingles pero hay muchas fotos. El patrón fue hecho por Elizabeth 
Hartman y en el encontraran tres bolsos, son tres estilos diferentes que 
seguramente les va a gustar.
Este es el que yo hice.

En cuanto a la Wavy bag, les recuerdo que es un patrón gratis que fue creado por
