How to make easy "Paper Flowers"

Lately I've wanted to do something handmade! Are you remember the photo I 
took last year with the various objects I wanted to transform?

 

 

 

Últimamente estuve con ganas de hacer algo artesanal!   Se acuerdan de la foto 
que tomé el año pasado con los distintos objetos que yo quería transformer?





El primer proyecto que hice fue la transformación  de la corona.

 

 

 

 

The first project I did was the transformation of the crown

 

 

 

 

Now...I decided to give a new life to the basket, and today I want to share 
with you the flowers I made with napkins paper, so I'll try to describe the 
best that I can the steps, using photos that I took while I was working on this project.

 

First thing I did was to paint the basket with a white color, to do that, I 
used a spray paint called Krylon.
Light, camera, action!!

Now ... I'm going to show how I have done the paper 
flowers

 

 

Supplies

-napkins, but you can also use tissue paper, I have also made some flowers 
recycling paper from the sewing patterns!
- a ruler
- Scissors
- Wire, I used floral wire.
- Wire cutters



 

 

 Esta vez decidí darle una nueva vida a la canasta, es por eso que
hoy quiero compartir con ustedes  las flores que realicé con servilletas de 
papel.  Voy a tratar de  explicar los pasos lo mejor que pueda  usando  las 
fotos que  tomé mientras trabajaba en  este proyecto.

 

Lo primero que hice  fue  pintar  en color  blanco la canasta, para ello usé 
una pintura blanca en aerosol. Luz, cámara, acción! ! ...ahora les voy a 
mostrar cómo he hecho las flores de papel

 

Material necesario

 

-servilletas o también ustedes pueden usar papel para regalos, me refiero a ese

 papel finito como de seda, también he hecho algunas flores reciclando el papel 
que viene en los patrones de costura!
- una regla
- tijeras
- alambre
- pinzas para cortar alambre

 

 

 

 

 

I cut out the napkins into squares, these  are 6 inches square, you can make 
them larger or smaller depending on the size of the flower you want to do.

 

 

Corté las servilletas en cuadrados , los míos miden 6 pulgadas, son unos 15 cm,

 ustedes los pueden hacer más grandes o más pequeños según el tamaño de la flor 

que quieran hacer.

 

 

 

 

 

I used two napkins for each flower, which will result in 8 sheets of paper for 

each flower.

 En mi caso he usado dos servilletas lo que va a dar como resultado  8 hojas de 
papel para cada flor 

 

Let's put all the papers together so they are evenly matched edges and fold it 

accordion style, making sure that you crease each fold.

Vamos a poner todos los papeles juntos de manera que queden  los bordes 

parejos, doblar como si estuviéramos haciendo un acordeón o un abanico, y 

asegurarse bien que quedan los pliegues bien marcados.

Wrap a piece of wire around the middle.

 

Sujete  un pedazo de alambre alrededor del medio.

 

 

 

 

Round off the ends the best that you can.

 

 

Redondear los extremos  lo más que ustedes puedan.

 

 

 

 

With great care and patience now we have to separate the layers of the napkin 
or tissue paper from one another, one by one, on each side by lifting each 
piece of paper up, takes patience and.... begin pulling them apart.

 

Con mucho cuidado y  mucha paciencia ahora tenemos que separar las hojas de la 
servilleta una por una, las vamos levantando , lleva paciencia.

 

 

 

At the same time we shape the flower.

 



Le vamos dando forma a la flor.

 

 

 

Then we shall assemble the bouquet and give it the personal touch!

Let's create a fabric postcard for Christmas!!!

 

Today I will share with you this tutorial, this was the project that I presented

as a guest post on the blog "Creare per r'ESISTERE". I decided to upload this

project in case there is anyone in this virtual world that has not seen it and

want to create Christmas cards with fabric. We begin here and hope you like it!

 

 

 

Hoy voy a compartir con ustedes este tutorial, este fué el proyecto que yo 

presenté como guest post  en el blog "Creare per r'ESISTERE".  Decidi subir este

proyecto en mi blog por las dudas que haya alguien en este mundo virtual que no

lo haya visto y quiera crear cartas de navidad con tela. Aqui comenzamos y

espero que les guste!

 

 

 

1) Buy a set of blank cards and envelopes

1) Comprar un paquete de tarjetas blancas con sus sobres

 

 

 

 

 

 2) I cut a piece of fabric that was smaller than the size of the card.

2) Cortar un pedazo de tela  más pequeña que el tamaño original de la tarjeta.

 

3) I decided to add on the back of the fabric, a piece of fusible interfacing to

 give more body to the fabric, but that is up to you.

 

3) Decidí  pegar en la parte de atrás de  la  tela, un pedazo de fusible 
interfacing  para darle más cuerpo a la tela, pero eso depende  de ustedes .

 

 

 

 

4) Using fabric scraps I cut a few triangles and attach them to the fabric 

with pins, then take them to the sewing machine.

 

4) Usando restos de  tela de tipo fieltro que tenia, corte unos triángulos y los 

sujete a la tela con alfileres, para luego llevarlos a la máquina de coser

 

5) Then I decided to add a piece of burlap in the back to give a more rustic 
style.
5) Luego decidí agregar un pedazo de jute en la parte de atrás, para darle un 
estilo más rústico.

6) Now comes the most beautiful, decorate with what you have on hand,
buttons,  beads, ribbons....the sky is the limit!

6) Ahora viene la parte más linda, decorar con lo que tengamos a nuestro
alcance,  perlas, alabatorios, botones...dejen volar su imaginacion!

7) The last thing is to glue our creation to the card, I used a hot glue gun.

7) Lo último es pegar nuestra creación a la tarjeta, yo use una pistola de cola  caliente.

Let's decorate a wreath.

 

 

 

A couple of days ago I wanted to create something decorative for my home, I 
found these objects and I said to myself that it would be interesting to recycle them.

 

Hace un par de días me dieron ganas de crear algo decorativo para mi casa,    
encontré estos objetos y me dije a mi misma que sería interesante reciclarlos.

 

 

Today I'll show you the steps I followed for recycling the wreath!

 First thing I did was paint it white, to do that, I used a spray paint called

Krylon.

 

Hoy les voy a mostrar los pasos que yo seguí para reciclar la corona.
Lo primero que hice  fue pintarla de color blanco, para hacer eso, usé una 
pintura en  espray que se llama Krylon.



Added burlap on one side of the wreath.

Luego le agregué un retazo de jute.



On the other side I put a piece of lace that I had from another project.

 En el otro lado le  puse un retazo de encaje que tenia de otro proyecto.



Then I began to add fabric flowers, I also added a wood flower, and tried to 
make a composition that I liked with all these flowers.
Lately I've been making fabric flowers, I'm starting to get more ideas about
where I can use them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Luego me puse a agregar flores en tela y agregué una flor hecha en madera y 
traté  de hacer  una composición que me gustara. Últimamente estuve haciendo una

cantidad de flores de tela,  estoy empezando a tener mas ideas de donde las

puedo usar.

 

 

 

In my next posts   I'll show you what I'm going to do with the rest of the

objects,  by the time I painted all in white and I'm finishing decorate the basket, I'll  try to write the post as soon as I can. I also have other projects that I have to post, ah.... if one day   had more than 24 hours, all that could be done!

 

 

En mis  próximas publicaciones les iré mostrando lo que voy a hacer con el resto

 de los objetos, por el momento he pintado todo en blanco y estoy terminando de 
decorar la canasta,  voy a tratar de escribir el post lo más pronto que yo 
pueda. También tengo otros proyectos que tengo que subir, ah ....si solamente

Recycled Cans "Round 1" .

From long time ago I want to do a recycling project for the blog, lately I

started to collect some cans. I chose those cans we buy in grocery stores and

usually bring inside, tomatoes, soup, a bit of everything, you know which are

the cans I'm talking about.

My idea was to get several cans of different sizes but I started with what I had on hand.

 

I call this tutorial "Round 1", because I think I'm going to recycle more cans

in the future and would be interesting to do a round two and then a three, it

would be interesting to see all that I can create, back to putting feet on land...

 I begin by round 1.

 

Desde hace tiempo que yo quiero  hacer un proyecto de reciclaje para el blog,
últimamente empezé a juntar algunas latas.  elegí  esas latas   que compramos en los supermercados  y que normalmente traen en su interior , tomates, sopas, un poco de todo,  ya saben cuales son las latas de las que  estoy hablando.


 Mi idea era conseguir varias latas, de diferentes tamaños , pero bueno empezé con las que tenia a  mano .  Decidí dar el nombre de "Round 1" a  este tutorial  , pues pienso que voy a reciclar mas latas en el futuro y seria interesante hacer un round dos y luego un tres, seria interesante ver todo lo que puedo crear, pero volviendo a poner los pies sobre la tierra, empiezo por el round 1!



Doing this project I discovered that there are two types of can opener, the
first group that cut the can, horizontally, and leaves a sharp edge. The other
opener that cut vertically, leaving a perfect edge for our projects.

Do you see the  green tape that you see over the edge? I put it to protect me from the sharp edge, when I started this project the only can opener I had was the one who cuts horizontally.
That's the green tape for painters, is usually used to protect
areas that do not want to paint, and I thought to use it as it has an adhesive
side.

Descubrí haciendo este proyecto que hay dos tipos de abre latas , el primer
grupo que corta la lata, de manera horizontal, y que deja un borde filoso y bien peligroso.
Los otros abrelatas que cortan en forma vertical, dejan un borde perfecto para
nuestros proyectos.

La cinta verde que ustedes  ven sobre el borde, la puse para protegerme de el
borde filoso, cuando comenzé este proyecto el único abrelatas que tenia era el
que corta horizontal. Esa es  la cinta verde que usan los pintores , es la  que
generalmente usamos para proteger las zonas que no queremos pintar, y se me
ocurrió usarla pues tiene un lado adhesivo.



The cans must be well washed, dried and sanded to create a rough surface where the paint can adhere.
After sanding, I decided to use a sealant, I used a
product called "Liquitex medium" is a material that is used to prepare surfaces
in my case gave me the grip I wanted. I was afraid that after the paint was dry,
becomes detached from the can. I got the "Liquitex" at a store called
"Michaels", it exists in several places but can be found in any store that sells
materials to make crafts.

When the sealant is dry, paint with white acrylic paint. After the paint is dry,
we can start decorating.

 
Las latas tienen que estar bien lavadas, secas y lijadas, para crear una
superficie rugosa donde la pintura se pueda adherir. luego de el lijado,
decidí usar un sellante, usé un producto que se llama "Liquitex medium". Este  es un material que se usa para preparar las superficies, en mi caso me dio la
adherencia que yo buscaba.
Yo tenia miedo que luego que la pintura estuviera
seca , se despegara de la lata. Yo conseguí el "Liquitex" en una tienda
llamada " Michaels ", se que existe en varios lugares sino la pueden encontrar
en cualquier tienda donde vendan materiales para hacer artesanía.

Cuando el sellante esta seco, pinte con pintura acrílica blanca, luego que la
pintura está seca, podemos comenzar a decorar



I made several cans, I'll show you pictures of them. Then I will show pictures

Hice varias latas y les voy a mostrar algunas fotos que tomé de ellas, mas
adelante les voy a mostrar fotos de los pasos que hice para decorar una de ellas.

Aqui les muestro las etapas que hice para decorar esta lata



After the white paint was dry, I added a light blue color paint.

Luego que la pintura blanca estaba seca , agregué una  pintura color celeste .



I have put on the table, all the objects that I liked and that I could use to decorate.

Pusé sobre la mesa,  todos los objetos que me gustaban y que podria usar  para decorar .



First item, jute and hot glue gun.

Primer elemento, jute y pistola de cola caliente

I love this butterfly!

Me encanta esta mariposa.

I would like to add a detail on the edge of the can.

Me gustaria agregarle un detalle en el borde de la lata.

...the final touch was the blue button.

El toque final fue el boton azul.

To decorate the other cans  I   used jute, burlap, glued paper, fabric, ribbons
I also used a wooden heart, fabric flowers ... everything is in the imagination,
and do not forget to save the next cans and recycle them .... because it's
beautiful!

Las otras latas yo las decore usando jute, burlap, pegué papel, tela , también
use Cintas de tela, un corazón en madera, flores en tela...todo esta en la imaginación,
y no se olviden de guardar las próximas latas y reciclar, pues es hermoso!


I'll have to create a new page with the name CRAFTS, where to put these
creations that are not in fabric, nor in wool but from a varied origin
