Last week I spent almost most of the day in front of my sewing machine, I don't know how many hours I've spent sewing, but they were many. It all started on Saturday October 6 when I received a message in my mail, in which I was invited to participate at an exhibition show. I nearly fell off my chair, I have always dreamed to participate in an exhibition show but never thought I would do it.
The only problem was that the show was taking place the following Saturday, on Saturday 13 October, which left me only a week to sew. The exhibition was in benefit of people living with a
hearing loss, my parents are deaf and one of my 4 children, the yougest also suffers from hearing loss, it was for a good cause and I liked the idea of getting involved in the deaf community of my city.
In this publication I want to show you some pictures that I took of my stand and photos of my projects. The positive side of this adventure was the experience that I had lived, I loved being there and I could practice my language of signs. I was invited to attend an upcoming show on November 17th which I immediately accepted.
These are some of the pictures I took of my stand
I made these totes, they are really simple, unlined, I wanted to add the embroidery of letters LSQ what it means: Quebec Sign Language.
I also made some wine bags for gifts, what you see is written in sign language and it
means, Christmas in French ''NOEL".
My intention now is to create a tutorial to show you how to sew the wine bags and
how to make the totes, do you think it's a good idea?
In the next picture you'll see two dolls, these dolls were already made long ago, there was a time in my life when I did a
lot of them and sold them. These dolls have a storage space inside for recycling
bags
I shared with you a moment that was important to me, I hope you liked my creations.
Now I go back to my sewing corner, I have many things to create and also several
tutorials to write for you.
Have a nice sewing day!
Marisa.
